Last weekend I had the chance to meet up with Project Overload for an energetic street-style photography session right in the heart of Coventry city centre. Even though the weather brought along a steady drizzle, the rain didn’t slow us down—in fact, it added a gritty, atmospheric edge that worked perfectly with the vibe we were aiming for.
From the moment we started, the city offered a mix of textures and backdrops: the colorful lines, the characterful side streets, and the reflections shimmering across rain-soaked pavements. Project Overload came ready with bold outfits and a confident aesthetic that stood out beautifully against the moody skyline.
While most people rushed for cover, we embraced the wet weather. The soft, overcast light created beautifully diffused tones, and puddles became mirrors that added an unexpected creative twist. Raindrops on jackets, sneakers catching reflections, and umbrellas cutting clean shapes through the frame all helped turn the session into something genuinely unique.
Despite the damp conditions, spirits stayed high. Coventry’s city centre has an energy of its own, and working with Project Overload made the experience even more dynamic. By the end of the shoot, we walked away with a collection of images that feel authentic, urban, and full of character—proof that sometimes a little rain is exactly what you need.
