Capturing Ben and Charlotte’s wedding on the 3rd of September at Whatton House Fable Yard was an absolute honor from start to finish. The morning began surrounded by laughter and quiet excitement as Charlotte and her bridesmaids got ready. Charlotte’s family welcomed me with open arms and effortless hospitality, setting a relaxed, joyful, and intimate tone for the incredible day ahead.
Charlotte made an unforgettable bridal entrance, arriving in style by a timeless horse and carriage that added pure fairy tale romance to the countryside setting. Over at Whatton House Fable Yard, the grounds were brimming with charm as I joined Ben and his groomsmen. There was an electric buzz in the air as guests arrived, marveling at the rustic venue, exchanging warm greetings, and soaking in the atmosphere before the ceremony got underway.
Following the ceremony, the celebration flowed into a vibrant reception and dinner filled with wonderful personal touches and infectious energy. Guests toasted the newlyweds while enjoying refreshing glasses of Granny Heather’s homemade elderflower cordial, and everyone delighted in seeing Charlotte’s beloved dog, Bella, who made a star appearance to join in the festivities. Fantastic music set the perfect rhythm for the evening, while inside the barn everyone admired the stunning wedding cake, baked with love by Charlotte’s mother, Holly.
My approach as a photographer is always about blending seamlessly into the background so couples can truly live every second of their celebration. Alongside documenting the big milestone moments, I focused on capturing the fleeting, candid interactions—the spontaneous laughter, quiet glances, and joyful encounters among guests that the bride and groom rarely get to see amidst the whirlwind.
To give Ben and Charlotte a special treat, I delivered a curated sneak peek of 10 high-quality photos directly to them on the night of their wedding. It gave them the chance to share immediate highlights with loved ones and rest easy on their honeymoon knowing their favorite moments were already safely preserved. Hearing their generous review meant the world: "Charlotte and I could not have asked for a more professional, relaxed, skilled and pleasant individual to capture our most special day. His work is now our favorite photos of all time. We couldn't believe the quality and the turnaround with which George returned our wedding day photos to us as and we feel truly blessed having George as the person to capture the most important moments of our lives for us. Seriously worth going with George!" Being part of such a heartwarming day alongside wonderful people is why I love photographing weddings, and I wish Ben and Charlotte a lifetime of joy and adventure together.
